On the afternoon of October 17, 2024, the academic webinar series conducted by the Sino-German Orthopedic Exchange Center at the First Affiliated Hospital of Shantou University Medical College was successfully held. The theme of this online webinar was Sports Medicine, featuring a presentation by Prof. Siebenlist, Chief of Sports Medicine Dept. at Klinikum rechts der Isar, Technical University of Munich, entitled Minimally Invasive Shoulder Arthroscopic Endobutton Reconstruction of Acromioclavicular Joint (AC Joint) Dislocation. The online webinar was chaired by Dr. CHEN Hongjiang, Deputy Chief Physician of Orthopedic Dept. at the First Affiliated Hospital of Shantou University Medical College, with opening remarks by Prof. HU Jun. Attendees included Deputy Chief Physicians LU Xiaohui and HUANG Zhonglian, young orthopedic doctors, graduate students and resident trainees. Prof. Siebenlist delivered a systematic lecture reviewing the Rockwood classification of AC joint dislocations, clinical management principles, and the evolution of related surgical techniques. He also analyzed a series of follow-up cases from his team, detailing minimally invasive reconstruction for these injuries, including indications for surgery and key operative skills for ligament reconstruction under arthroscopy. He particularly elaborated on the technique of knotless double endobutton for reconstruction, emphasizing the significance of surgical treatment for Rockwood type IV and V AC joint dislocations in the functional rehabilitation of laborers and athletes. After the presentation, participants engaged in a lively discussion related to the conference theme and relevant cases in the field. This academic exchange covered the basic anatomical structure of the AC joint, mechanisms of functional movement, concepts of injury repair, as well as the evolution of surgical treatment for joint dislocation and its pros and cons. It provided participants with a deeper understanding of the biomechanical function of the clavicle and AC joint, expanded clinical treatment concepts, and aligned practices with international standards for minimally invasive diagnosis and treatment, offering significant clinical guidance to the hospital.
